Bike sizing for a road bike?
I found a mens schwinn la tour road bike for sale that I’ve fallen in love with, but im a female and wont be able to try the size out until ive bought it. I was wondering if the size will fit : I’m 5′5, and the dimensions on the bike are 33 inches from the pedal to seat, and 31 inches from the bar to the ground. Help?!
Yes, walk away. One of the basic fits is ’stand over height’. You should be able to straddle the top bar and have 1/2 to 1 inch gap between the jewels and the bar. Go to a good bike store and get fit for a bike; write down the size and burn it to memory, Then go shopping. Nothing worse than the wrong size bike!
